How does Strikkekista use your personal data?
Information may be registered and stored when you register at www.strikkekista.no, when you are in contact with sales and support, e.g. by e-mail, or when you use our services.
Information about a customer relationship is used for several purposes:
When you buy goods from us:
Information such as your name, e-mail address, physical address, etc. is necessary for us to be able to serve you as a customer. Among other things, we need your e-mail address to be able to fulfil our part of the agreement when you make a purchase. For example:
- Sending the order confirmation.
- Sending the link to the downloadable knitting pattern.
- Sending information about your customer account.
- As a contact address regarding your order.
In some cases, we may contact you by telephone if we cannot reach you by e-mail with order-related questions. Your physical address is used only to send your order to the correct delivery address. This is defined as a legitimate interest, and consent will not be requested for it.
We are required to retain order information in connection with accounting, tax and duty handling, and any handling of returns. You may request that your personal data be deleted from our database, provided that we are not required by law to retain the information we hold.
For marketing:
In some cases, we ask for your consent to use your personal data for marketing purposes. This applies to marketing by e-mail, text message (SMS) and social media. Explicit consent is then obtained in advance. The consent shall contain information about the specific processing activity. If you have given consent, you may withdraw it at any time by letting us know.
If you have actively consented to it, we may use your e-mail address for one or more of the following purposes:
Newsletter: Newsletters are sent out 2-4 times a month. The content will vary between product information, discounts and offers, and knitting-related information (e.g. event information and knitting techniques). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link in the e-mails.
Social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Twitter etc.): Adverts targeted at your e-mail address, with content that varies depending on what information we have collected and stored about you. This is solely to be able to show you more relevant adverts. Your e-mail address may also be used to create lookalike audiences (targeting adverts at people who resemble you in their usage patterns).
Where do we store information about you – and where do we share information about you with others?
Our e-commerce platform is provided by WordPress, and data is stored with Webhuset and its data centres in Bergen and Oslo.
Subcontractors:
Strikkekista also uses services provided by third parties. Here is an overview of subcontractors with whom information may be stored
Paypal
Strikkekista uses Paypal as its only payment solution. Your card and bank account details are looked after by Paypal, and you never need to share your payment details. The information we receive from Paypal is your name and e-mail address.
Mailchimp
Mailchimp is used for sending out newsletters. Only those who have actively signed up for the newsletter in the online shop receive newsletters. (API-generic)
In addition, Mailchimp may be used to send out mystery knit-alongs in several parts. This is done only to those who have bought the mystery and have thereby given their e-mail address in order to receive the mystery.
You are welcome to read Mailchimp's own privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/about/security/
